Prepare Sprite Fusion projects for GB Studio export with the right tile size, map size, and unique tile count.

What It Does

GB Studio mode helps you keep the map compatible with GB Studio while editing.

When enabled, Sprite Fusion locks the project tile size to 8x8.

It also shows a 160 x 144 minimum-size overlay in the editor and displays the unique tile counter.

Export Requirements

GB Studio export only works when:

  • Tile size is 8x8
  • Unique tile count is 192 or fewer
  • Map size is at least 160 x 144
  • No map side is larger than 2040px
  • Total map area is 1048320px or less

Unique Tiles

GB Studio can use up to 192 unique tiles.

Sprite Fusion counts unique tiles while GB Studio mode is enabled, so you can keep the scene inside that limit before exporting.

Exporting

Use the GB Studio export when the scene is ready.

The export creates a scene.png image for GB Studio.
